Breaston is a small village in the borough of Erewash in the East-Midlands, Derbyshire. The village is strongly community based with many different groups and people who regularly meet up to socialise, or just help the village for the better. This is only a snippet of what life is like in Breaston.

Based in Derbyshire, the village has many locally run businesses that vary in use. From a nail salon to a farm shop, and a hairdressers to name a few. So there is always topics from many ares on the agenda.

Breaston Local wants you to stay on our page and take a good look at what content we provide, which will hopefully make the community more aware than it already is. And attract new visitors to showcase all that Breaston has to offer.

Patch Description:

Breaston has two MP(s): Mrs Pauline Elizabeth Latham OBE and Maggie Throup. Along with many local and Parish Councillors who have a variety of roles to do with the environment, finance, and parks. With Breaston only being a small village, the policing neighbourhood is: Derbyshire Constabulary and Safer Neighbourhoods Team.

The village has a population of 4,455 which was taken in 2011. However, since then the population has more than definitely risen with many houses and even a whole estate being built since then.

The village has many businesses with three pubs/ restaurants, a farm shop, nail salon, barbers, mini restaurants, post office, co-op, opticians, dentist, pharmacy/medical surgery, butchers, petrol station, nursery. Breaston also has two methodist Churches, with one being a chapel. A primary school and a few local community groups in the Scouts that meet on the village green and also the Breaston Community Forum.

There is also a consistent and fast bus service running through Breaston from Nottingham to Derby and also a train station in the neighbouring town of Long Eaton that goes straight to London St Pancras and other destinations in the country.

Breaston is mainly a residential area with the ethnic group being mainly white: English, Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish. The religion is mainly Christian. The houses are mainly 2-4 bedrooms and the health is good to very good.
